Hallo André,
änderungen am Template tpl_modified_responsive sind meiner Meinung nach, da es nicht gerastert ist, wie z.B. ein Template welches auf Bootstrap basiert, oft nicht ganz einfach durchzuführen.
Beispiel: Spalte links mit Kategorien, in der Desktopansicht um hundert Pixel breiter mache.
In templates\tpl_modified_responsive\css\jquery.sidebar.css

ersetzen mit

PS:
Wie ich sehe beabsichtigst du diverse Änderungen am Template tpl_modified_responsive zu machen, dabei läufst Gefahr, da es sich um ein Standardtemplate handelt, dass diese Änderungen nach dem nächstem Shopupate wieder weg sind, deshalb ein Tipp, mach eine Kopie des Templates tpl_modified_responsive, benenne die Kopie z.B. mit tpl_modified_responsive_costom und verwende dann dieses Template für deine Änderungen und die Ausgabe im Shopfrontend.
